WHAT I’VE LOVED THIS WEEK…
Brining Explained via Real Simple just in time for the Holiday turkey. Definite favorite come Christmas!
There is so much in the America’s Best Artisans slideshow feature on Food & Wine I don’t even know where to start. From travel guides to bacon recipes there is something you will love!
Leftover labels via La Crema blog. These will definitely make you a fantastic host and the envy of your friends of how clever you are!
Great article about hosting your first big holiday event. Even if it isn’t your first time the tips are great.
Last but not least the Eat: The Story of Food miniseries begins next Friday on the National Geographic Channel… I set my PVR have you? Yes my inner geek is very excited.
WHAT I’VE BEEN DRINKING THIS WEEK…
Last weekend I had the chance to sample a selection of rums from Rum Nation
. I’m not a rum drinker, but as an equal opportunity drinker I gave them a try. And guess what?! Not bad, not bad at all. These rums really changed my mind and piqued my interest… The collection I tasted were definitely sipping rums not ‘rum and coke’ rums. The Demerara 1985 was amazing. Almost thick, it was a beautiful deep amber color, with flavors of black tea and cinnamon. Far more sophisticated than I ever imagined a rum to be.
WHAT COCO & TOM HAVE LOVED THIS WEEK…
Strangely enough it is going to be fish oil. Yes you read that correctly. With one fur baby having some back/joint issues and the other skin sensitivities, adding fish oil to their diet is a necessary evil. I’ve been through a few products, and until now they usually smell awful and I’m guessing taste about the same.
Enter Ascenta Canine Omega 3 (smokeymeat flavor). My two love it! Just a small teaspoon on their morning food and they are pushing each other to get to their food, not running away! As pet parents we are always told the importance of fish oils, but if like me you’ve struggled to find one that your pets will like, give Ascenta a try. Ascenta offers dog and cat formulas of their omega 3 oil, as well this company also offers consumers access to their quality control reporting completed by an independent third party. Impressed!
